So to begin, last night at dinner Pam happened upon 37 roses. We handed some out to the people in Rome on our walk home from dinner and then kept the rest! They were absolutely beautiful! I’ve never held so many roses at once! Flowers are one of my absolute favorite things in the world and this just made my week!
We went to the contemporary art museum named MAXII. The title stands for “Modern Art of the 21 Century.” I got to see a painting by one of my absolute favorite artist, Kiefer, which was very exciting. The museum was designed by a woman architect. On the very top level was glass that you could stand on and see all the way down. It made my knees quiver, but I stood on it anyways.
We walked around this neighborhood of Rome after the museum, and we stumbled upon this beautiful fountain. It was very hot today, the fountain looked so inviting. Especially after seeing everyone’s memorial weekend beach pictures, I just wanted to go swimming. Do not worry I did not go swimming in the fountain, but I did stick my toe in!
Once we got home I opened my app “She Reads Truth.” If you don’t have it I highly suggest you add it to your collection of apps. It is an awesome source for daily devotional, and it is free too! The devotion I started today really stood out to me. It states that the key foundational truth in Proverbs is this: to pursue wisdom is to pursue God, and to deny God is to walk in the way of a fool. Proverbs 2:10 reads, “for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;” That verse especially is comforting to me. I want the wisdom in my heart and knowledge in my soul that comes from following God. I just had to share what I read tonight! It was too good to keep to myself.
